EVENING OF THE VIRTUES 2011
 
For the third consecutive year “For Our Children” foundation organizes the charity auction „Evening of the virtues” under the patronage of Mrs. Kristalina Georgieva. The event will be held on November 17th 2011 in Auto Union Club Center.
 
 
This year the initiative aims to raise funds for the creation of a Children’s House for newborns and toddlers who have severe disabilities. These are infants who don’t have the chance neither to be reintegrated in their biological families nor to be placed with foster or adoptive families. For the creation of Children’s House BGN 80 000 are needed.
 
"A large part of the children of up to three years of age, living in social institutions, have very severe disabilities such as the Down syndrome, autism, mental retardation and cerebral pals. For some of them we will find foster or adoptive families. Others don’t have the chance to be brought back to their biological families nor to be adopted or placed in foster care. I hope that with the help of all participants in the event, we will raise the necessary funds to provide these children with the family-like environment  which they need” – said Elka Nalbantova, director of the “Development” department of the “For Our Children” Foundation.
 

Last year under the patronage of Mrs. Yordanka Fandakova (mayor of Sofia) and Mr. Nikolay Mladenov (Foreign Minister) BGN 66 510 were raised, which were used for the recruiting and training of foster parents for children in need. The team of the Foundation presents an annual report for the funds spent.
 

The organizers of ‘Evening of the virtues” 2011 expect over 100 official guests from the academic and the cultural circles in Bulgaria, representatives of business, of the Diplomatic Corps and politicians, to be part of the event.
