The supports centers of “For Our Children" Foundation in Sofia and Plovdiv help everybody who wants to become a parent, to care at home for abandoned child or child at risk. We believe that there is no better place for development, learning and understanding the world than the family. Only the family environment can provide a child with warmth, care, attention and love. »

In the last four years, "For Our Children" Foundation has specialized in providing services for prevention of infant abandonments in social institutions and finding foster families for the children whose parents are unable to look after them. »

At the current stage of development of “For Our Children” Foundation programme, we target several aspects of family care for children at risk, which we consider socially pressing. Such an essential aspect is how security for children at risk is seen by professionals and common Bulgarian people in periods when measures are taken in a family environment – native family or its alternative. In the same direction is the current technical task, related to training and mentoring a team of experts to elaborate, test and implement safe family environment standards. »

The Community Support Centre "St.Sofia" develops social services, based in the community for prevention of abandonment and taking back children at risk in the family environment, as well as services for support of their families. »
