“Family for every child” - for more foster parents in Bulgaria

The “Family for every child” project supports the de-institutionalization of children at risk by increasing the number of foster families in Bulgaria, by increasing the number of actual adoptions and by reducing the abandonment risk for already adopted children. Thus, instead of going to social institutions children will be raised in well-supported foster families. »

Children first – the response for Mogilino (2007 – 2008)

Foundation ‘For Our Children’, as a part of an alliance of non-governmental organizations, and in partnership with UNICEF Bulgaria, has assisted the efforts of the Agency for Social Assistance to close Mogilino social care institution. »

Complex for Social Services for Children and Families in Montana

The complex had a Community Support Centre, where social services for children and families were provided and a Crisis centre where a possibility of crisis accommodation and support were ensured for the people as well as 24-hours crisis hot y line. »

School for Every Child in Bulgaria

Aiming at realization of the right of every child for equal access to quality education, the Foundation "For Our Children" initiates a campaign for raising funds for building ramps, elevators and facilities for support in the Bulgarian educational institutions. »

Projects in social institutions (1994 - 2005)

The projects aimed to enhance the possibilities for social integration of children reared in children's institutions in Sofia, Plovdiv and Velingrad. »

Family projects in Sofia, Plovdiv and Velingrad (1993 - 2006)

The four projects assisted children from poor families and families in which problems compromised the family integrity. The main objective was to help raise children in a family environment and only in extreme cases, when no other alternative was available, to place the kids in state institutions. Almost 900 children were covered by the projects. »

The “Children's House” project (2001-2005)

The most important results of the “Children's House” project are those involving the children. Until 2005, 24 children benefited from the project. As of August 2005, there were 15 children living in the house, 5 were reintegrated into their biological families, 2 were adopted and 2 children were placed with guardians. »

Project "Equal access to education" - Haskovo (2005 - 2007)

We created a supportive environment for children with special educational needs in Haskovo. Project experts had the task to explore and implement the established policies and legislation for children with special educational needs, and to inform teachers and parents about the rights of the mentioned children. »

Educational project “Extended education” in Velingrad and Rakitovo (2001 -2005)

The project’s chief objective was to improve access to quality preschool and basic education for Roma children in Velingrad and Rakitovo. The partnering organizations created an effective support system for Roma children in kindergartens and schools in both towns. The project team was working to change public attitudes toward the rights of Roma children and toward improvement of the existing legislation related to their educational integration. »
