The Community Support Centre “St.Sofia” is founded in 2008 г. by “For Our Children” foundation under a PHARE project. The Centre is located in Institution for medical and social cares for children under 3 years ‘St. Sofia’ in the capital of Bulgaria – Sofia, Serdica district.

Our team consists of social workers, family therapists, rehabilitators and psychologist qho together with the team of Institution for medical and social cares for children under 3 years ‘St. Sofia’ worked to meet the needs of children and their families. The two teams are convinced that an active social work with the children’s from the institutions parents is needed as well as with alternative families.

The Community Support Centre develops social services, based in the community for prevention of abandonment and taking back children at risk in the family environment, as well as services for support of their families.

Provided activities in the project are suitable with the priorities of the National strategy for children protection. The strategy aims at reforming the institutional care for children and reform in the system for child protection, where the point is the increase of the well-being of the children in Bulgaria.
