The Children’s Center of Foundation “For Our Children” in Plovdiv had organized a meeting – feast with children and kinship families, where the children are established. The guests to the event were more then 40 representatives of the Departments for Child’s Protection, suppliers of social services, municipal administration, the State Agency for Child’s Protection, Regional Directorate “Social Assistance”, members of the Council for Coordination to the Foundation.

The goal of the event was to honor the efforts of the kinship families and to create an atmosphere for sharing of their experience. On the meeting was shared a story for a new born baby, who was committed from his biological parents to a kinship family to care for him after his birth. The kinship family shared their story what means to look after a kinship child, to give him love, to give him an opportunity to know his parents, sisters and brothers. The family raises two kinship children.

Two grand mothers, who have took to raise three sisters and two brothers, shared for the support, which they received from the social workers from the Community Support Center “For Children and Parents” and Departments for Child’s Protection in Plovdiv. The employees from the system for children’s protection told about the process of taking a decision to accommodate a child in a kinship family. This happens when the biological parents do not have a possibility to care for it and this is a good opportunity for the child to grow in a family environment and to keep a connection with its biological family.

It was organized a joyful party with many games and entertainments in a children’s center. The kids prepared some cards with messages to the closest adults, who have accepted them into their home and hearts.
The meeting was led by Marieta Dulgerova, who contributed to creating an emotional, exciting and warm atmosphere.
