The team of the “Foster Care Center” of “For Our Children” Foundation has been engaged in the “Horo in Sofia” festival event, not with folk dances, but with information booth. Participation is a part of the Foundation’s program to recruit foster families for abandoned children.

According to Mariana Taseva, who manages the team of the center - the direct communication is very valuable in the process of foster care, because it allows people to talk with experts for expressing their concerns and worries. “ Meeting a lot of people within our foster care campaign, I realized their need of much more direct way of communicating than the pure advertising and media formats which contain informative element mostly. There is a very long way upcoming at a person who has started of thinking in becoming a foster parent, that’s why such person should be supported at any moment and should get a free access to professional assistance when it’s necessary. That’s why here comes available our national helpline - 0700 188 22 (at the price of a local call), which is available 24 hours for applicants and approved foster parents.” said Mariana Taseva.

During the festival “Horo in Sofia”, the team of “Foster Care Center” met with many people who asked questions about foster parenting. Most discussed was the profession: Foster parent and the opportunities it offers. Every Wednesday “Foster Care Center” organize free information sessions which start at 18:00 pm.
