For our children foundation and For the children at risk in the world foundation presented an article from the magazine Early Childhood Matters

Dimitar Ivanchev from “For our children” foundation presented the project for spreading of articles from the Early Childhood Matters magazine in a collaborate event with our partners from “For children at risk in the world” foundation.

 

The second event for spreading articles from the scientific magazine financed by the International organization “Step by step” /ISSA/ was held on 23 October 2019 in SOHO in Sofia. In it specialists from non-governmental organizations working with refugees and representors from the academic community took part.

 

After the welcoming from Rositsa Petrova the executive director of “For children at risk in the world” foundation which were hosts of the event, Dimitar Ivanchev from “For our children” foundation presented the project for spreading of articles from the Early Childhood Matters magazine.

 

Milena Marinova project coordinator of “For children at risk in the world” foundation presented the article “From little ripples to big waves: comprehensive early childhood programming for young refugee children”, which is presenting a successful practice for the use of play-based learning activities in the education in early age. Good play-based practices from the experience of the foundation in the work with refugees were presented.

 

Antoniya Seizova from UNICEF placed the discussion in an actual context by presenting the currently happening with children and families, who are searching for shelter here.

 

During the discussion that followed the problems, which the specialists face in their practice and the way to handle, them were discussed. The conclusion, that because of the crisis character of the situation, practices, whose efficiency hasn`t been tested previously, are done, was reached. As possible solutions several thing were pointed such as the sharing of experience and good practices from the organizations working on the field as well as the need of better policies on national level regarding the refugees.
