Project: Protected Children in Secure Families

Description: “Protected Children in Secure Families” project funded by OAK Foundation, created the first in Bulgaria Guidelines for Secure Family Environment – an instrument for social work with children and families which is based on the positive stories in conversations with children, families and professionals. An expert team was engaged with the entire project. The team included representatives from the professional community from all around the country, alongside professionals from the “Child Protection” Departments in Bulgaria, from the centres providing services for children at risk, non-governmental organisations and state institutions, including the Agency for Social Assistance, Ministry of Labour and Social Politics, State Agency For Child Protection.
The Guidelines are structured in seven main areas of parental care: everyday care, safety, feelings, stimulation, rules, identity, family relationships. Within the framework of the project Guidelines for Secure Family Environment were published. They aim is to contribute to more Bulgarian children feeling loved and protected by their parents during every day of their life.
