The foster care is an alternative for the children and decreases the risk of spending part of their childhood in a social home. As a national policy, the foster care has the purpose to decrease drastically the number of abandoned children and gradually to support the closure of the homes for children. We provide information and consultations to everyone who wants to be a foster parent, we also evaluate future candidates for foster parents. Our task is to conduct training and to present a report before the Commission for the child on the readiness of the family to welcome an unknown child in their home. After a child`s accommodation in a foster family, we provide supporting trainings, different events for children and foster parents, as well as psychological and emotional support during the children`s stay at the family. We organize groups for mutual aid on which the foster parents share their experience and knowledge and receive support from other foster parents.
