For the third time on 11th January the Student Council at 91 German Language High School in Sofia organized “We Read” – an event that encourages the students with passion for literature to express their talent, to continue to create and express themselves through art. Traditionally, the students selected a charity cause. The event was dedicated to the dream of For Our Children Foundation’s team that we have been working towards for the past 28 years: no child should experience the loneliness and isolation of social institutions – instead, it should grow happy and loved in family. In support of this dream, “We Read” fundraised 1369 BGN that will be used so that children can develop their full potential in a secure family environment from earliest age.
Mariana Taseva, Deputy Executive Director of For Our Children Foundation expressed our gratitude towards the organizers, the participants and the guests of the event. Whatever you give today, you will receive tomorrow- reminded us Ms Taseva – I wish you to be consistent in the creative process, to find acknowledgement and fulfillment in the literature and art.
More than 20 young writers and poets accepted the challenge and read their stories and poems which reflect their emotions and thoughts. Students, their friends and teachers who had filled the entire Lumiere Cinema, listened and applauded them. Guests of the event were Ana- Maria Gerasimoca, Milen Halyov and one of the students of the German Language High School Alexander Stankov who, alongside his mother Radostina A. Angelova, wrote his first book this year- the novel “Tomorrow”.
As a conclusion, they shared their thoughts and advices about the creative process and the meaning of writing.
